Fragile and High-Value
Packing for items where a claim does not make you whole - artwork, instruments, electronics, glass and anything irreplaceable.
Some Damage Cannot Be Paid For
Insurance settles a number; it does not restore a painting, a prototype or a piece of equipment your production line is waiting for. Where that is the situation, packing stops being a cost line and becomes the actual risk control. Items are assessed individually rather than packed to a standard method, in our own Dubai warehouses or at your premises.
What We Pack
The common thread is that a generic carton and some bubble wrap is not a serious answer.
Something Fragile to Ship?
Packing that fails usually fails in one of four ways, and each has a different answer.
A dropped case transmits the impact straight to the contents unless something absorbs it. Suspension and cushioning are what stop that, not more wrapping.
Long road and sea journeys work fixings loose and abrade surfaces. This is a slow failure that inspection at packing time never reveals.
An item that shifts inside its own packing damages itself. Blocking and bracing hold it still, which matters more than the thickness of the padding.
Sea transit and temperature swings produce condensation inside a sealed case. Barriers and desiccant address it - see temperature-sensitive packing.
How It Is Done
Good fragile packing is mostly decisions, made before anything is wrapped.
Each piece is looked at for weak points and how it will be handled, rather than packed to a house standard.
Cushioning inside a rigid timber case, so the outer structure takes the handling and the inner layer takes the shock.
Condition recorded before the case is sealed, which is what makes a claim provable if one is ever needed.
Why Cannata
Careful packing loses much of its value if the consignment is then handed to whoever was cheapest for the transport.
Items are packed to their own requirements, not to a single method applied to everything.
Work done where the goods are stored, so a fragile item is handled once rather than moved to a packer and back.
The same company that packed it moves it, which removes the handover where careful work is usually undone.
