Oversized and Overweight Cargo
Moving plant, machinery and oversized cargo across the UAE and the GCC on trailers built for the weight, with the lifting and permits arranged around it.
Cargo a Standard Trailer Cannot Take
Once a load is too heavy, too tall or too wide for a curtainsider, the job stops being about the truck and becomes about the trailer, the lift and the route. Cannata handles all three: the right deck under the cargo, the lifting equipment at each end, and a route planned around the height and weight limits along it. Part of our land transportation services. Moving plant is as much a permits-and-route question as a lifting one, which we cover in heavy equipment and machinery transport in the UAE.
What We Move
If it needs a crane to load or a low-bed to carry, it belongs here rather than on a general freight booking.
Moving Something Heavy?
Heavy transport is quoted on four variables, and getting them right at the enquiry stage is what keeps a job to one visit.
Total weight plus the length, width and height of the largest piece. Those numbers decide the trailer - flatbed, extendable or low-bed - and whether the load is classed as oversized.
How the item is loaded and unloaded. Some sites have their own crane or forklift; where they do not, we bring the lifting equipment as part of the job.
Height and weight limits, and whether the delivery site can take a long vehicle. An access check before the day is cheaper than a truck that cannot turn in.
Oversized movements need authority approval and, above certain dimensions, escort vehicles. We arrange these rather than leaving them with you - including on cross-border runs into the GCC.
Equipment for the Job
The deck is matched to the cargo rather than the other way round.
For tall or long items where deck height and length decide whether the load is legal on the route.
For steel, structures and machinery that is heavy but within standard height.
Lifting arranged at collection and delivery where the site cannot handle the item itself, including collection from a supplier.
Why Cannata
Heavy moves usually involve a haulier, a lifting company and a permit agent. Splitting them is how delivery dates slip.
Cranes and forklifts arranged as part of the move, not booked separately by you and hoped to arrive on the same day.
Trailers allocated from our own vehicles, so the deck you were quoted is the deck that arrives.
Height, weight and access checked before the day, which is when an oversized job either works or does not.
Rate Request
Give us the route and the cargo and we will come back with a rate, usually within one working day.
